Merry Vestmas!

My goal for 2015 really should be to be a little more timely with these…but honestly, I go home to my family at best twice a year, (this year it was once), and it’s a lot of time away from family and friends to snap pictures, format them, write posts, and dig up links. It felt a bit self-centered to spend my time that way when I’m at home for the holidays, so I don’t feel bad about my lack of posting this season. There’s absolutely nothing wrong if you’re a blogger who can find the time to blog on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and for New Years, but for me it just wasn’t top priority. I missed my family and friends too much!

That said, I had such a great trip home this year, bringing my boyfriend for our first Christmas spent together! He usually stays in LA with his family, while I head home, but this time we got to introduce the California kid to the Nebraska Winter! Mildly disappointing at first, since it was rainy and too high of temps (everyone in the Midwest wants to kill me), but finally toward the end of our trip we got some real Midwest snow for him to experience. And it was colddd.

Christmas Eve and Christmas Day were wonderful as well. My sister and her boyfriend were back from Ohio, so the four of us got to spend lots of time together which was amazing. I’m very lucky to have a sister who’s so awesome and WE are very lucky to have boyfriends who treat us so well :)

These photos were taken for my Christmas day outfit this year, traditionally spent in my Grandma’s town of Crete, Nebraska. Very small and cozy little place, and Christmas Day has been at her house for as long as I can remember. The weather, once again like last year, was particularly nice and even sunny, so layers were a good choice. I chose my favorite flannel of the season, this absolute steal from F21, for its holiday vibes, layered with a big furry vest to keep me warm. Paired with a skirt, tights, and my favorite knee-high boots, I was comfortable, yet fashionable for a lovely Christmas Day!
