Coffee Run.

ImageImageImageImageImage

I love a goooood hot cup of coffee on a cloudy gray day. I’ve had a pretty busy week, and this is just the right casual outfit while keeping me warm in the “cooler” temps when the sun isn’t shining. I bought this sweater almost 2 years ago from F21, and it’s it held up surprisingly well. I have to hand it to F21 lately…at extremely low prices, sometimes you can have some major quality issues, but in the last year or two they’ve REALLY stepped up their sweater game. I don’t know about you, but there were over a dozen winter sweaters I really wanted to snag from them this season. Some of them were rivaling MUCH more expensive brands in cut and quality, such as Free People and Wildfox Couture, for a fraction of the cost. Nice to see them step that up a little bit.

I paired this super-soft baby pink waffle knit number with my favorite ripped jeans, a pop of leopard in the belt, and these lace up booties for a bit of comfortable height on the go!

Am I the only one who most of the time finds pants somewhat uncomfortable? I mean, I know I usually wear ‘em pretty tight, but even my softest, stretchiest, and most comfortable pairs don’t compare to a good jersey maxi skirt. I’ll be honest, for as much as I like getting dressed in the morning, I equally like getting undressed when I’m home for the day. I think maybe I just have this weird thing about needing to change clothes. I’m perfectly comfortable in most of what I wear, but I will take the first opportunity I get to put on sweats or yoga pants the second I get home if I’m done for the night!

Well, the exception to this little habit may just be this skirt. It’s awesome, made of the softest jersey, and it’s literally like wearing PJs. Being that it’s nice and high-waisted, means I can toss on a loose and sheer crop top without over doing it on the “skin” factor in relation to that side slit with the skirt. Throw on some fun accessories, and it makes for a nice all-black gypsy look with a touch of comfort.

Pop of Pink.

Gotta love the “Back to MAC” program at MAC! I’ve been an avid user of their products for many many years now, and I’ve gone through a lot in the last several years! I used MAC as my general makeup supply for photography clients for a long time, so over the years I’ve gone through dozens of old product containers, returning them to the store for free stuff. For every 6 containers you bring back, you can score yourself a free eyeshadow or lip product. Pretty Awesome! Especially considering MAC makes so many amazing shades, you can never have too many. So whenever I come in with a bag full of empty eyeshadow pots, mascara tubes, foundation bottles, powder compacts, and whatever else you can think of (probably an obvious note, but has to be a MAC container), I like to take the opportunity to pick up something I wouldn’t normally go for. This time, I went for a bright pink lipstick. I already have the coveted “Girl About Town” bright fuschia shade, but that’s my only other bright lipstick aside from a bold red. I’m typically very neutral so it’s been fun to step out of the box again with another bright selection. The color is “Impassioned” and I must say, since picking it up a couple of weeks ago, I have been wearing it a lot for everyday use. It’s been really fun adding a little pop of bright coraly-pink to some of my more neutral outfits. Here, I chose to spice up my outfit of mostly browns and creams with the pop of color, which added a nice contrast to the muted green of my colored skinnies. Also making their debut in an outfit post are my new boots and leopard scarf, both received as Christmas gifts this year! Woo!

Sunshine + Lace.

We’ve had a bit of a heat wave starting up the last week or so in LA, so I was itching for that summer vibe. My ultimate summer casual style, the one you can find me in most, is definitely that Southern California boho beach-babe look. Think denim cutoffs, gauzy tops, crotchet, lace, layered gold-tone jewelry, and perhaps my fringed out booties or crossbody bag. Well, it may FEEL like summer beach season, but guess what….we are still only a few weeks past holiday season, so this girl cannot be bustin’ out the short-shorts just yet. Run, squat, lunge, repeat! That has to happen for a while before you’ll see me in fitted cutoffs! Until then, my summer-in-the-winter-time look is going to consist of a boxy and loose, cropped lace top, my favorite ripped and rolled jeans, and casual sandals.

Printed Denim.

I love patterned pants, and was stoked these went on clearance at Zara right after Christmas. I’d had my eye on them for a while, and couldn’t pass up the $15 price. I didn’t yet have a pair where the print consisted of tone-on-tone denim, rather than colored pattern printing. Not to mention, I’d been on the lookout for a pair of leopard skinnies for a while now, and this was a unique and affordable way to kill two birds with one stone. I kept this outfit super simple with a white chiffon blouse and simple sandals on a very sunny day in LA.
