I barely have any navy pieces, and I think when I was younger and starting to develop my style, I always opted for black as my dark choice because I found it “more versatile”. Well that, my friends, is what we call thinking inside the box. These days, I try not discriminate colors and keep a wide rainbow of pieces handy at all times, including navy. While it’s such a great neutral, and serves that darker purpose just as well as basic black, it really does pair well almost any color. Better than black in many cases. As you can see, I chose to keep it calm and relatively close on the paint strip with a super comfy distressed ombré sweater, solid navy skinnies, and charcoal gray pumps. The color just fades from gray to navy to gray again. I feel as though the darker fade of this outfit elongated my body and was extra slimming for some reason. I’ll take it. Gravy sandwich please!
